Long steel

• On the Shanghai futures Exchange the October rebar contract settled CNY 16/tonne higher than Monday at CNY 3,634/t ($515/t), – source: Fastmarkets

• In Tangshan, billet prices were up CNY 20/t to CNY 3,350/t, the highest level since December. – source: Kallanish

Steel Prices in Other Countries

Scrap

• US scrap suppliers are heard to have offered HMS 1&2 80:20 at slightly above $255/tonne cfr Turkey. Referring to the latest Baltic-origin HMS 80:20 deal at $255/t cfr last week, buyers’ price idea, however, is at below $255/t cfr. – source: Kallanish

• US scrap prices have also fallen. Bulk HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap was offered last week at $260-265/t cfr Vietnam. A US bulk 80:20 scrap deal closed at $284/t cfr Vietnam during the second week of June. – source: Kallanish

Semis

• Turkey Billet and bloom prices have each been decreased by TRY 25/t to TRY 2,540-2,715/t and TRY 3,100/t respectively.- source: Kallanish

Bar/ Wire rod

• The Turkey steelmaker decreased its 12-32mm diameter rebar list price for its home market by TRY 15/tonne to TRY 2,870/t ($418/t) ex-works. In dollar terms, this has decreased from the previous price of $424/t. The price of 12-18mm diameter round bar was also decreased by TRY 15/t to TRY 2,887/t. Prices for 5.5-56mm diameter wire rod have dropped by TRY 45/t to TRY 3,080-3,235/t. Deformed wire rod prices were also decreased by TRY 45/t to TRY 3,140-3,160/t.  - source: Kallanish
