CIS billet export prices are picking up

Traders have remarked on the good signs in the recovery for market of billets as summer holidays are approaching the end. It is expected that a bullish trend will take place in the next couple of months at least. Traders also noted that the price of commercial grade billet from CIS mills could rise by 15-20 USD per tonne within August ifself. This is in tandem with recent increase of scrap prices in Turkey, and the increase of pig iron and billet prices in the Far East market. Traders also said there remains little competition from China.
