Japanese steelmakers are targeting an increase of US$50/ton for electric galvanized export prices to Asia's market. Consequently, the prices will reach US$800/ton FOB. The negotiation will start at final week of November.

In the meantime, the South Korean mills already started their price negotiation for their electric galvanized sheet products with their Southeast customers. South Korea is asking a US$70/ton increase on their CIF price, among them, US$20/ton is for higher sea freight.

They both have confident to achieve their target prices, because Japanese and Chinese steelmakers have continually increased their prices on hot rolled steel products, and also a short supply of cold rolled products in South Korea domestic market.
